Mendota Heights residents are invited to apply for open positions on the following City Advisory Commissions:

Natural Resources Commission

There is one (1) opening with a term running from Feb. 1, 2026, to Jan. 31, 2029.

The Mendota Heights Natural Resources Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to natural resources, sustainability, environmental and climate stewardship, and opportunities for the advancement of those areas including development and recommending policies and initiatives that enhance and preserve natural resources within Mendota Heights.

The Natural Resources Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm.

Airport Relations Commission

There is one (1) opening with a partial term running from Feb. 1, 2026, to Jan. 31, 2028.  

The Mendota Heights Airport Relations Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to airport noise and operations.  The Commission makes recommendations regarding strategies to mitigate the city’s air noise exposure.

The Airport Relations Commission meets the third Wednesday of odd-numbered months, unless otherwise noted, at 6:00pm.

How to Apply:

Interested applicants shall:

  • Be a Mendota Heights resident.
  • Be able to attend monthly advisory commission meetings and serve as a liaison between the City of Mendota Heights and the city's residents.  Please note:  attendance at city advisory commission meetings is an expectation.  Absences by appointed members in one year shall not exceed three consecutive meetings or more than 25% of the commission's total meetings.  
  • Submit an Advisory Commission Application and resume by Jan. 6, 2026, to be considered.
