Permits and Licenses
Permits
Planning ahead is important—spring through fall is the busiest time of year for permit applications. All plans and applications are reviewed in the order they’re received, no matter the project size. Reviews won’t begin until all required information is submitted.
Residential Construction Hours
Construction work in Mendota Heights is only allowed during the following times:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
These hours are strictly enforced.
Licenses
Licensing helps protect the public and benefits the whole community.
Why licensing matters:
Promotes safety and accountability
Maintains professional standards
Supports emergency response and environmental protection
Helps prevent fraud and ensures accessibility
Encourages economic growth and proper tax collection
Planning Applications
Planning applications are only scheduled for review by the Planning Commission or City Council after all required materials and fees are submitted by the deadline.
Late or incomplete applications will not be added to the agenda.
Meetings are held at City Hall Council Chambers (1101 Victoria Curve):
Planning Commission: 7:00 p.m.
City Council: 6:00 p.m.
