In 2022, City leaders began work on a Bike and Pedestrian Plan intended to guide improvement projects and plans for the future, aimed at creating safer, more navigable roadways, sidewalks and paths. After gathering input from the community, the Council accepted a final Plan in November 2022.
The City is working closely with Dakota Co. and the Minn. Department of Transportation (MnDOT) on the following projects, which will take place in 2023:
- Add shared use trail along Victoria Curve from Hunter Ln. to Hwy. 13.
- Close sidewalk gap along South Plaza Dr.
- Pilot test crosswalk at Chippewa Ave. and Annapolis St./Hwy. 13.
- Add sidewalk segment and move crosswalk adjacent to Somerset Elem.
