Road Construction

Victoria Curve and Orchard Hill Street Improvements – Victoria Curve has been reclaimed from Lexington Avenue to Hunter Lane. The contractor will be installing storm sewer the week of Sept. 4. Following this work, the remainder of Victoria Curve and Orchard Hill be reclaimed and spot curb repair made starting on Sept. 11. Project updates are available at MendotaHeightsMN.gov/Projects

Lexington Avenue Street Improvements – Dakota County is performing a mill and overlay of Lexington Avenue from Highway 62 to Mendota Heights Road. The project is currently underway. The trail has been reclaimed and repaved. Concrete pedestrian ramps are completed. This project will have flaggers to monitor traffic as the milling and paving are being done. Dodd Road (Highway 149) Chip Sealing – MnDOT installed a chip sealing surfacing project on Dodd Road from I-494 to Smith Avenue. Following a cure period, permanent striping will be applied September 18-20

Highway 62 – MnDOT will be performing a Concrete Pavement Repair (CPR) project on Highway 62 from Lexington Avenue to Highway 13. This project will have directional lane closes as the work is completed. The Highway 62 work is scheduled to begin Sept. 5 and expected to be completed by Oct. 8. The contractor is expected to first close eastbound from Highway 13 to Lexington for approximately 15 calendar days. The westbound closure would follow, also for approximately calendar 15 days. The Lexington Avenue intersection will remain open. The Highway 13 intersection will also generally remain open except when construction work in the intersection is needed.

Highway 13 – MnDOT will be closing Highway 13 from 2nd Street to Lexington Avenue at 9 a.m. on Sept. 19 to remove a tree that is leaning over the roadway. The roadway will reopen once the tree is removed.
