During the week of April 22-27, Mendota Heights celebrated Earth and Arbor Day with several events and educational opportunities, including Find Lily the Frog, daily environmental tips, the announcement of the first Annual Oak Awards, and the kick-off to Fresh Air Fridays.
At the Tricia and the Toonies ENVIRO-Show, kids and adults enjoyed colorful puppet characters, while learning more about resources, recycling and caring for the environment.
The City-wide Clean Up Event brought residents and volunteer groups to clean up our parks and public open spaces, collecting bags of trash and helping to keep the City and the environment clean. One baseball team even made the decision to clean up the park instead of having their scheduled practice.
