The 2025 city budget included funding for the following City projects:

Estimated Project Completion: October, 2025
Project Description: An American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan will be completed which will review ADA compliance deficiencies in the community and provide an outline for residents to report and address ADA concerns.

Estimated Project Completion: July, 2025
Project Description: The tennis courts at Friendly Hills will be resurfaced which includes cleaning the surface, scraping the loose material, patching any low areas of depth, clean and fill cracks, prime necessary areas, apply two coats of acrylic surfacing, and line the two courts.

Project Budget: $77,500 (for trail portion)
Estimated Project Completion: Construction will take place in 2025 and 2026.
Project Description: Hampshire Drive Neighborhood Improvements – A feasibility report will be brought to City Council in late March or early April in relation to pavement improvements to Abbey Way, Canton Court, Haverton Road, Hampshire Drive, Hampshire Court, Morson Circle, Park Lane, Pond Circle East & West, and Winthrop Circle. This project will also include construction of a trail on the north side of Hagstrom King Park from Hampshire Drive to Pond Circle West.

Estimated Project Completion: Spring, 2026
Project Description: A new playground will be installed at Ivy Hills Park in the Spring of 2026. Staff, the Parks and Recreation Commission, and City Council are refining the original Request for Proposals (RFP) to receive bids on the project in the Fall of 2025.

Project Status: Complete
Project Description: To ensure a safe and enjoyable playing surface for all users, the City completed the following:
- A laser survey of the existing infield surface and prescription build for grading purposes.
- Edging of the outside arc.
- Grading of the entire surface to allow sheet drain of surface to outfield.
- Machine grading of the surface.

Location: 821 Marie Ave W
County Projects
Dakota County, in partnership with the City of Mendota Heights and the Lower Mississippi River WMO, is constructing improvements to the Interstate Valley Creek between Marie Avenue and Lilydale Road. Improvements include restoring and stabilizing eroded sections of the creek, removing invasive vegetation, and providing additional storm water quality and volume reduction.
Dakota County, in partnership with the City of Mendota Heights, is constructing and reconstructing 1.4 miles of the River to River Greenway between the Big Rivers Regional Trail and Dodd Road. Reconstruction of the trailway between Lilydale Road and Marie Avenue is slated for the summer of 2025 with improvements to the segment between Marie Avenue and Dodd Road slated for the summer of 2026.
