Picnic Shelter Rentals
Permits will be issued during three time periods throughout the year based on the following timeline:
- Permit applications for use from December through February will be posted on the City’s website starting the first business day in October. Staff will begin reviewing permit requests the first day in November.
- Permit applications for use from March through July will be posted on the City’s website starting the first business day in January. Staff will begin reviewing the permit requests the first day in February.
- Permit applications for use from August through November will be posted on the City’s website starting the first business day in May. Staff will begin reviewing the permit requests the first business day in June.
Permit requests for use thereafter shall commence on a first come, first serve basis for all interested parties.

How to Reserve a Picnic Shelter
- Visit the registration portal, Civic Rec Registration Portal
- Find the tab labeled "Picnic Shelter Rentals"
- Select the Park Location, as well as Calendar Date you are inquiring about
- Select "Add to Cart"
- Check out by logging in or creating an account

- The City will then approve or deny the reservation
- If approved, you will then be prompted to complete the payment online, using that same registration portal
- Once approved and paid for, your permit and other information will be emailed to you
Fees
- Resident: $50 (includes $25 non-refundable processing fee)
- Resident Business: $75 (includes $25 non-refundable processing fee)
- Non-Resident: $75 (includes $25 non-refundable processing fee)
- Non-Resident Business: $125 (includes $25 non-refundable processing fee)
- Additional picnic table on-site: $15/day
Picnic Shelter Amenities
- Friendly Hills: Two smaller shelters, Porta-Potty, grill, playground
- Kensington: Two smaller shelters, running water restroom (during the warm season), grill, electricity, playground
- Mendakota: One larger shelter, running water restroom (during the warm season), grill, electricity, playground
- Rogers Lake: One larger shelter, Porta-Potty, grill, electricity, playground
- Valley: One larger shelter, Porta-Potty, playground
- Wentworth: Two smaller shelters, Porta-Potty, playground
